A project promoted by Guandong to increase the development of environmentally friendly printing processes. “Green Life for Digital Media” is the new project launched by Guandong Italia Srl, planned to create new product lines with a better attention to ecology and to the recyclability of materials, but not only. The Italian-Chinese company, an essential bridge between the best Eastern production and the best Western organized distribution in the Sign & Display market, meets the requirements of the green printings, introducing a range of media that gives the possibility to create an eco-friendly productive chain.
Edoardo Elmi, President of Guandong, says: “If we use a green kind of technological printing, but not an eco-friendly media, well then the result is not fully ecological. This is why we are proposing different and concrete solutions. With our eco-friendly products, we want to tempt dealers and end-users to take part in a certified productive green chain. For this reason, our registered ‘Green Life for Digital Media’ brand will be available to be used on printings, in addition to the already present certifications, all aiming to support eco-friendly media.”
Guandong inaugurated the project “Green Life for Digital Media” at the beginning of 2010, with the presentation of two lines of products, as the result of elaborated studies and researches with the collaboration of well selected partners from Asia: Plastic Collection, a “PVC green recipe” that reduces the use of polyvinyl chloride of 50%, and Textile Collection, a complete range of eco-friendly cotton and polyester canvas, matt and gloss, and the banner flag. The purpose of the “Guandong Life for Digital Media” initiative is to propose better recyclable media, without any kind of added energy during the process of disposal. Furthermore, Guandong is trying to reduce the use of PVC, though still aware that it can’t be eliminated from the auto-extinguishing products. Currently, in the world of visual communication, about 60% of the popular products is still made of PVC.
This is exactly the market Guandong is addressing to, replacing the classic versions with two new products with the same features and characteristics, but more environmental friendly:- Banner “PVC free”, to replace the standard banner with polyester and PVC; - Self-adhesive made up of a special resin that eliminates PVC, which is usually used with liner to create standard self-adhesives.
In summary, Edoardo Elmi says: “After the success obtained with the Plastic Collection and the Textile Collection, we wish that also the two new entries, soon available in Europe, will be equally welcomed on the market. We are working on the project “Green Life for Digital Media”, trying to increase a brand that is already popular and required by several dealers, in order to realize a green chain that supports eco-friendly media.
